| Production Technology
have designed and manufactured control systems for both new
and refurbished hydraulic presses / mould carriers.
One particular pair of presses required the control systems
to be designed and manufactured on-site during a seasonal
shut-down. The presses were required for applying the
polyurethane foam moulding (RIM) to the back of carpets for
use in car interiors. Upon arrival of the presses on site,
an evaluation of the hydraulics and safeties were made and a
design drawn up. |

| The
control system was designed around a Mitsubishi FX PLC with
Beiger HMI. The HMI allowed the presses to be controlled in
both an automatic sequence or manually but also provided
diagnostics for plant maintenance. Upon completion of the
manufacture, installation and commissioning of the control
system, the sketches were returned to our design department
for transferring onto CAD. Once the customer had approved
the drawings they were supplied with a hard copy and a PDF
copy of CD. |
| Another pair of
hydraulic presses required a control system to share a
common hydraulic pack but have two separate control stations
with two-handed control. The presses were used to
manufacture oars from a composite resin. Again the presses
were originally part of a plant and came without any
controls. Following our initial visit, a control system was
designed in our design department, approved by the customer,
manufactured at Production Technology and then installed and
commissioned on site. |
